# CartItem Component - Unwanted "0" Discount Display Fix

## ✅ **UNWANTED "0" DISCOUNT DISPLAY ISSUE RESOLVED**

Fixed the unconditional "0" discount field rendering by updating the data flow to only pass discount values when they are actually greater than 0.

---

## 🐛 **Root Cause Identified**

### **Problem**

- Items were showing unwanted "0" lines under the unit price
- This was caused by explicitly setting `discount: item.discount || 0` in multiple places
- Even when no discount existed, the value was being set to `0` and then rendered

### **Root Cause**

-   **Sales.tsx Line 1145**: `discount: item.discount || 0` - explicitly setting discount to 0
-   **Sales.tsx Line 139**: `discount: item.discount || 0` - in setCart function
-   **Sales.tsx Line 1148**: `allocated_discount: 0` - explicitly setting allocated_discount to 0
- The CartItem component was correctly checking `item.discount > 0`, but the data was being pre-set to 0

---

## 🔧 **Solution Implemented**

### **1. Fixed Discount Data Flow in Sales.tsx**

#### **CartItem Usage (Line 1145)**

```tsx
// Before (causing unwanted "0")
discount: item.discount || 0,
// After (only pass when discount exists)
discount: item.discount || undefined,
```

#### **setCart Function (Line 139)**

```tsx
// Before (causing unwanted "0")
discount: item.discount || 0,
// After (only pass when discount exists)
discount: item.discount || undefined,
```

#### **allocated_discount Field (Line 1148)**

```tsx
// Before (causing unwanted "0")
allocated_discount: 0,
// After (only pass when discount exists)
allocated_discount: undefined,
```

### **2. CartItem Component Logic (Already Correct)**

```tsx
{
    /* Discount Info - Only show if there's a real discount */
}
{
    item.discount && item.discount > 0 && (
        <div className="mt-1 text-xs text-red-600 font-medium">
            Discount: –{formatPrice(item.discount)}
        </div>
    );
}
```

---

## 🎯 **Key Changes Made**

### **Data Flow Fixes**

1. **Sales.tsx Line 1145**: Changed `discount: item.discount || 0` to `discount: item.discount || undefined`
2. **Sales.tsx Line 139**: Changed `discount: item.discount || 0` to `discount: item.discount || undefined`
3. **Sales.tsx Line 1148**: Changed `allocated_discount: 0` to `allocated_discount: undefined`

### **Conditional Rendering Logic**

-   **CartItem Component**: Already had correct conditional logic `(item.discount && item.discount > 0)`
- **Currency Formatting**: Uses `Intl.NumberFormat('en-EG', { style: 'currency', currency: 'EGP' })`
-   **Styling**: `text-xs text-red-600 font-medium mt-1`

## 🎨 **Visual Results**

[-] 1 [+]                                  ✕
```
### **After (Fixed)**
[-] 1 [+]                                  ✕
```

---

## 🔍 **Technical Details**

### **Data Flow Architecture**

1. **Sales Component**: Manages sale items and discount data
2. **CartItem Component**: Renders individual items with conditional discount display
3. **Data Passing**: Only passes discount values when they exist (> 0)
4. **Conditional Rendering**: CartItem only renders discount when `item.discount > 0`

### **Discount Field Handling**

- **When No Discount**: `discount: undefined` (not rendered)
- **When Discount Exists**: `discount: actualValue` (rendered with proper formatting)
-   **Conditional Check**: `(item.discount && item.discount > 0)` ensures only real discounts are shown

### **Currency Formatting**

```tsx
const formatPrice = (price: number) => {
    return new Intl.NumberFormat("en-EG", {
        style: "currency",
        currency: "EGP",
        minimumFractionDigits: 2,
    }).format(price);
};
```
